SENIOR SWAG - AKA JONATHAN'S SENIOR PHOTOS - LAWRENCEVILLE, GA
SENIOR (CLASS OF 2015) | 07.05.2014
Senior year is typically one of the best years of one's life. I'm sure the same will be for this class of 2015. Before our time together, I didn't know Jonathan very well. I knew his family and his sister because she graduated with my sister. With this in mind, I was interested to see how Jonathan and my time together would turn out as somewhat "strangers." Any potential awkwardness vanished in like two seconds when we arrived. Why? Because we were two dudes cruisin' in Downtown Lawrenceville. Very hipster like.
The city was preparing for its large 4th of July celebration. We took full advantage of that. I learned that Jonathan likes a little bit of history when we quickly toured the historic courthouse. A few unique items caught our eye, but our mission walking inside was to get some killer images. That we did. I also learned that he wants to be a mechanical engineer. So we talked about what a career in that would look like. He seemed to know what he was talking about because he taught me some things for sure.
From that point on we were in the zone. I love being in the zone. Photographer and subject don't even need words to setup shots. It just happens. Of course, it requires the proper ground work to get there. The resulting images? I find them to be quite classic. Not traditional. Classic. I'm sure five, ten, twenty years from now when Jonathan and his family look at these pictures they will talk about how timeless they are. That's one of my goals with every session - to be timeless. I think that together, Jonathan and I made that happen. Below is the photo explanation of our time together.
