PHOTOS WITH HEROES - ATHENS, GA
FAMILY | 11.6.14
JP probably doesn't realize it yet, but his parents are heroes. I'm sure they'd just shrug it off saying that's just their job. But after our time together, I witnessed how true it is. But I'll get to that in a moment.
I had never been to Memorial Park until Kellie introduced me to it. I'm glad she did, it was a very fun location, not including the extra curricular activities at the end. It had a little bit of everything. More importantly, the Caseys have a little bit of everything. I love taking photos of young families. Maybe it's because my family is young, or that I like the excitement, energy, and even unpredictable nature of little kids. Actually, I know that I like the unpredictable part!
JP is all boy, just in case you didn't know. Don't believe me? Just check out how much fun he's having with just a stick. Classic little boy. As we moved around the park we experienced lots of laughter and giggles, and of course saw some dogs. JP pointed them out for me.
As we wrapped up our time together we talked for a few minutes. I grabbed my instant camera and they headed off to their car. That's when it got interesting. Here's the quick version. An elderly man fell off a bench. I noticed him face down on the ground. Naturally, I signalled, more like yelled, for Kellie and Stephen to come help. Why? Because, he's a paramedic and she's an emergency room nurse. They jumped right in. I learned a greater appreciation for our public servants that's for sure!
So yeah, I photographed heroes. I can't wait to see where life takes this young and exciting family.
